In-Year Applications

CONSULTATION ON ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2026/27

This consultation is being carried out by Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Multi-Academy Trust and the Local Governing Body of St Mary’s RC Primary School, Ipswich, with the full support of the Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia.
Whilst there are no proposed changes to St Mary’s admission arrangements for the school year 2026/27, the Admission Code of Practice requires schools to consult on their admission arrangements every 7 years, even if there have been no changes to those arrangements during that period.
A copy of our proposed admission arrangements for 2026/27 is listed below.
Please can you share this with your parents, staff, governors and anyone you feel should be informed.
Comments on these arrangements can be emailed to: admin@st-marys-ipswich.suffolk.sch.uk or sent to the school at St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Woodbridge Road, Ipswich IP4 4EU.
Our consultation runs from 1st October 2024 until 31st January 2025.
The arrangements will be confirmed by 28th February 2025 and published on our website.
Addendum to published admission policy for 2024/25 and 2025/26
As a result of the recent publication of the 2021 Admissions Code by Government, all schools are required to amend the definition of “previously looked after children” in their admissions policies. The definition now reads:
“A previously looked after child’ is a child who is looked after, but ceased to be so because he or she was adopted, or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order. Previously looked after children also includes those children who appear (to the governing body) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted”.
This definition has been approved by the Our Lady of Walsingham Trust Board (as the admissions authority for our school), and will apply to admissions from 1st September 2021 onwards.
